Diesel, gasoline or electric cars

By Gustavo Copelmayer

The future of fossil fuels appears to be in its final stretch of use for transportation. Why? Because they are finite, because of the environmental protection scheme and because of the advancement of electric automotive transport usage.

In this sense, the European Commission has established that as of the year 2035, no more fossil fuel vehicles will be marketed, this decision is endorsed through the so-called Green Pact, agreed in 2019, through which the European community will become the first climate neutral continent.

The objective of this set of measures is to meet the goals, established by the European Climate Law, which are expected to establish fair, ecological and prosperous socio-economic norms, through the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

How do citizens prepare?

There are many doubts about the transition period in the electric vehicle fleet, but it is said that this will come imminently before the year 2025, according to some reports.

It is not known very well if they will be hybrid cars or plug-in hybrids or if the step will be direct towards electric cars.

There are still some technical challenges to solve. For example, the availability and speed of the load, as well as the autonomy. In addition, production costs and even the price of batteries and their replacement are unknown. But there are sufficient reasons for a boost to the electric car, such as energy efficiency, ease of maintenance and above all, the decrease in environmental pollution that the change towards this technology would entail. This decision will undoubtedly change the world.
