Ecological art connects the viewer
Ecological art seeks for the viewer to connect with nature or take part in some event that affects the planet through the voice of photography, painting, dance, theater, literature or crafts. It is an artistic movement that spreads and changes trends, in other words it is an important voice today, expressed Gustavo Copelmayer.
The use of eco-friendly materials or elements of nature that contribute to environmental awareness are the mediums that artists use in this movement. In this way, they express their feelings about the fragility of nature and seek to raise a deeper understanding of the human footprint in this planet.
Its origin is attributed to the sixties, when the political and social circumstances, contributed to the beginning of the Land Art movement, a trend that uses nature as a framework and materials without altering the environment as their tools of choice.
“I invite you to follow the work of these artists, Jeff Hong (New York), Diane Burko (Brooklyn, N.Y), Lorenzo Quinn (Venice), Naziha Mestaoui (Belgium), among many others,” says Gustavo Copelmayer.
