How has the international market for organic products evolved? In which products and services can the environmentally friendly concept be exploited?
Having an eco-friendly company is a moral obligation because, although we are all responsible for preserving nature, companies are the ones who generate the greatest amount of pollution. Sustainability in a company seems to be something very complex due to the number of natural resources that are necessary to carry out many of its processes, however, an eco-friendly business or company is capable of generating important benefits, says Gustavo Copelmayer. One of the main benefits is access to new markets because sustainable companies are a newly created category. Gustavo Copelmayer adds that environmentally friendly companies project a better brand image, and this is an important marketing strategy. Many potential clients value the respect and commitment for nature in the production of the goods they are consuming.
It is likely that acquiring sustainable equipment, machinery and supplies may imply a greater investment, but over time, the expenses are balanced, and, in some cases, companies begin to reduce their operating costs and tax charges due to incentives that seek to enhance the use of renewable energy in some countries. But beyond this, there is the entrepreneur’s awareness of his responsibility to the environment. Gustavo Copelmayer points out that environmentally friendly businesses receive government financial support more easily for the creation and development of green companies. In some cases, foundations and non-governmental organizations, together promote projects to reduce environmental impact. In some European countries, several financial institutions have established as a rule, being an environmentally friendly business in order to apply for loans. Through these actions, an environmentally friendly company will be able to keep customers happier and it will be easier to develop customer loyalty by respecting and encouraging caring for the environment. As an added value, sustainable businesses are always recognized and well valued compared to the competition, concludes Gustavo Copelmayer.
