Ecological microgrids are increasing
Microgrids guarantee access to a safe and reliable power supply to growing areas, and even to regions with energy scarcity. What are micro networks? Gustavo Copelmayer points out that these are small networks or circuits capable of generating energy and can also work autonomously.
Currently, they are in great expansion and micro networks are called to play a very important role in the near future. Not only do they serve to optimize that power generation or take it to places that are difficult to access, but they are also an important piece for a more sustainable future. The general electrical grid connects our homes, businesses and other buildings with large power plants. Thanks to this network, electricity goes from where it is produced to where we need it.
Microgrids, in many cases, are also connected to the electrical network, but here is the important thing: they can work by themselves, isolated from the general network.
What does that mean?
Mainly, if the general network fails, there is a service cut or a breakdown of any kind, the micro network can continue to generate electricity. This type of network is presented as a useful solution to build a resistant infrastructure, something of special relevance in a context of electrical interruptions caused by extreme weather conditions. Micro networks are no longer just isolated solutions, they are gaining popularity in many sectors such as infrastructure, commerce and industry, concludes Gustavo Copelmayer.
