Global show, real crisis

During Super Bowl LX halftime, Bad Bunny sang “another blackout” while climbing an electric pole.

On the brightest stage in the world, the artist reminded viewers of everyday realities in Puerto Rico and many Latin American countries: frequent power cuts, outdated grids, and systems unable to meet demand exceeding 30,000 MW in some nations.

“El Apagón” is more than a song — it’s a direct protest.

The contrast is clear: while some countries lead in clean energy, others face structural crises affecting productivity, education, and quality of life.

The message was uncomfortable but necessary: a fair energy transition is not a trend; it’s an urgent economic and social necessity.
