How can I lead a life that can change the world?

“Researching on how to lead a greener life, with simple actions which at the same time are compelling, both at home, life in the city, in schools and offices, it is very common to find similar jobs that point to the need to recycle, reuse, save energy and promote a slower life, without haste or unnecessary consumption”, reflects Gustavo Copelmayer. However, he points out that it is unavoidable to innovate and inspire people towards the conscious protection of the planet.

In that sense, Copelmayer refers to the reading of two works, with very similar titles, friendly and pleasant content, as a contribution and reflection on this subject. First, he mentions the book by the activist, María Negro, of Argentine nationality, with her book, “Cambia el Mundo”(Zenith). Negro believes that small gestures can generate big changes, and in this book, she offers exercises to reflect on the power of our actions, habits and daily decisions that help minimize the environmental footprint, save on resources and also share data on additional sources of information on platforms, websites, CO2 calculators, documentaries, and more. The following text may be controversial, it is about the young activist, Greta Thunberg, with her book, “Let’s Change the World”, (Lumen). At just 16 years of age, Greta became the voice of an entire generation that claims its right to a futuror. In 2018, Thunberg began a school strike on Fridays that was followed by hundreds of thousands of students around the world. In December of the same year, she was invited by the United Nations to speak at the climate change summit. Shortly afterwards, she crossed Europe by train to reach the Swiss city of Davos, where she stayed in a tent, to speak to world leaders at the World Economic Forum. This volume collects all her speeches, with which she made the environmental cause visible and helped to place it on the public agenda.
