Biotek Petrol obtained 2nd place in the Uruguay Circular 2020 award
Biotek Petrol obtained the second place awarded by the Uruguayan Government for converting organic waste into Bioremediators. “We have developed products that accelerate the process of natural degradation of pollutants in water and soils. What would take nature years, we achieve in days using the same waste as raw material”, emphasizes Daniel Salcedo, biochemist and commercial director of this company.
The use of circular technologies contributes to the sustainable development that is being sought to solve the various environmental problems and, above all, to the health emergency in this new reality, the organizers of this award indicate.
These premises were the ones convened by the organization of the “Uruguay 2020 Award, gearing towards a circular economy in Uruguay” in which the Swiss embassy in Uruguay, the United Nations Organization for Industrial Development (Onudi), the Ministry of Industry, Mining and Engineering of Uruguay, among other organizations, participate as promoters.
“The delivery of this award dedicated to waste management, promotes the dissemination of experiences, technology and also creativity to contribute on a daily basis to the recovery of water and soil,” says Gustavo Copelmayer.
Using animal waste to repair nature through its own processes, is that possible? The answer is yes, says Gustavo Copelmayer, who adds that Biotek has succeeded in converting organic waste into Bioremediators.” We have developed products that accelerate the natural degradation process itself,” adds Bladimir Cabello, scientist and director of development and research for the vast majority of products manufactured by Biotek.
“We are extremely pleased to have been winners of the Honorable Mention of the Circular Economy Award in which our commitment to rehabilitate the environment is recognized,” says Alberto Broggi, director of operations of the plant. In addition, he thanks the organizing bodies such as the Program Page Uruguay, MIEM, ANDE and UNIDO, for the opportunity to participate and the granted award.
“We are willing to contribute with the paradigm changes necessary to promote the circular economy with which we will lead to new models in order to minimize waste generation, promote eco-design, enhance industrial symbiosis, foster a functional economy, boost reuse and recovery of products, as well as processes and services that benefit the environment”, Daniel Salcedo concludes.
