Clean technologies and sustainable development
Clean technologies are those, that when applied, do not produce any secondary effects or any transformation to the environmental balance or the natural systems that it integrates, explains Gustavo Copelmayer and further denotes that since 2006 the concept of the Third Industrial Revolution has been developing and it is precisely characterized by the interrelation between the communication technology of the Internet and the renewable energies of the 21st century.
“Until recently these two currents were not related to environmental care and technological development. Now they combine to generate an industry technology compatible with the sustainable development of the environment,” says Gustavo Copelmayer.
Companies began to adapt to the new legal restrictions, perhaps more out of fear of sanctions than out of a true sense of belonging to the environment, says Gustavo Copelmayer. In this sense, the use and development of alternative technologies, compatible with the restrictions, has begun to increase.
The application of clean technologies is clearly evident when large companies have explicit policies in favor of the environment. For example, says Gustavo Copelmayer, Starbucks is committed to recycling the cups used in its premises in order to achieve 100% recycled content and not have to re-manufacture them, Gustavo Copelmayer concludes.
